Blazing Mic: Abuja NYSC Camp’s Ultimate Talent Showcase
Kubwa, Abuja – May 1st, 2025 — The atmosphere at the NYSC F.C.T. Orientation Camp in Kubwa was electric as Batch A Stream 1 corps members unleashed an unforgettable night of raw, unfiltered talent during the NYSC Blazing Mic Competition.
Organized by The Black Wall Street Records, a leading international talent management company owned by Amb. Big Suni, in collaboration with SAED, this event was the undeniable highlight of the camp’s social night. The stage lit up with vibrant displays of singing, dancing, rap battles, instrumental genius, and hip-hop performances.
The Kickoff: Talent Management Sensitisation
Before the lights dimmed and the beats dropped, corps members were treated to a comprehensive talent management sensitisation session. The Black Wall Street Records CEO, Amb. Big Suni, addressed the young talents, giving them insight into the label’s mission and legacy.

He shared that the label has played a significant role in nurturing top-tier talents both in Nigeria, the United States, and the United Kingdom, and proudly listed Seyi Shay, Rayce, and Oritsefemi among its signed Afrobeats artists.

Amb. Suni emphasized that the NYSC Blazing Mic initiative, launched across various camps in Nigeria, is part of the label’s effort to discover “the next big thing” — a rising star capable of reinforcing Afrobeats’ global impact.
A Night of Explosive Talent
As night fell, the camp transformed into a stage of limitless possibilities. The event spanned two high-energy nights, featuring performances that wowed both judges and the crowd.
Two headliners delivered show-stopping performances:
Rayce, an Afropop sensation, ignited the stage with his crowd-favorite tracks, leaving fans screaming and dancing in unison.

From gospel ballads to R&B serenades, and pop anthems to fiery rap bars, the contestants delivered their very best. Dancers dazzled the crowd with coordinated routines, and instrumentalists surprised everyone by using creative tools—including empty sachet water packs—to make music.
One rapper, in particular, had the audience buzzing with slick rhymes and commanding presence, while a guitarist melted hearts with soulful strums.
